Magnolia Tree ( potted )

Hi. I’ve bought my dream tree, a magnolia, and it is living in a very large slate container due to not having anywhere I can plant it. It’s on a balcony that gets the sun a large part of the day ( east facing ) and I’ve bought everything the garden centre recommended. I’ve moved it to it’s big pot, watered it and been told it will be fine. Does anyone have any idea what to do to keep it alive and healthy in a tub? I’d be heartbroken if it died! Thank you in advance Smile

I have two Magnolia Sieboldii in pots, I bought it as one, but when I potted it up I found two!
The Sieboldii are single flowers with deep red stamens. They seem to flower after the leaves have developed. I must say they grow very slowly, but don’t like cold winds, so on your balcony I’d protect it from the wind.
They grow in the mountains of Asia, so are quite hardy.

Thank you Smile I’ve put up screening around the railings to stop any strong wind battering in. Thank you 🌳
