Mower lever handle

I have a Qualcast electrical mower. It works fine, except that the lever handle doesn't actually switch the switch on any more.

There are two plastic parts to the lever and a springy bit of metal which means that when you hold the button down and pull the lever, it should have enough oomph to push the switch in. Currently it doesn't, and I can’t see quite how the metal strip fits in (and stays in) to give it that extra bit of push.

I have Googled. Mostly I have found info on replacing the electrical switch or replacing the parts, but not a helpful diagram or video for the lever handle, which is a mechanical, not electrical problem. And will no doubt be really simple once I just know...

Do you have a local mower service guy? Someone like that might be able to fix it for you - Google for your area.

I don't need a guy, I just need a diagram or decent photo, which a friend has found, so I'll try again now I have that.

You could try WD40 squirted into the spring and switch and work it back and forth. Corrosion in electrical garden equipment is really common.
