What's this shrub?

Does anyone know what this shrub is? I haven't seen one before (just moved into new garden). Thanks in advance!

My husband think it is hibiscus!

Think it looks like a hibiscus too. We've got three, and they are a little behind yours, the leaves are not out as much.

I think it's a hibiscus as well - the leaves do come out later than most other things.

Brilliant, I love hibiscus, but haven't seen one so early in the year before (hence having no idea)!

Fingers crossed for a pretty colour. I'm not so keen on reds or yellows, but the previous owners favoured pinks and purples, so I'm hopeful.
