I decided not to chit my main crop potatoes and I left them in the box...until today. They have grown long white roots through the net bag. Are they any good to plant and should I pull the white roots off?

They have chitted themselves by the sound of it...i would pull them out of the net, if any roots do remain on them leave intact, if some are damaged so be it really.

When I chitted my earlies they got short purple shoots, but these are long (5-10 cm) white roots. Are they really the same thing? I suppose it could just be down to the variety of spud.

It will be being inthe dark (in the box) that has made them long, white and spindley, they'll be fine though...just get them in the ground asap.
