Along the lines of playgrounds.

32m squared area.

Looking to be as cheap as possible. Area currently just soil and uneven.

Any ideas of what to use?

That fake grass stuff?

you can buy rubber playground matting, either as tiles or big sheets. I haven't tried it at home but it seems to be the same stuff as council playgrounds. I think it needs a flat level bed of gravel / sand underneath.

if anyone has tried it at home, i'd love to know how well it works.

We have recycled car tyres. Very easy to lay once we'd dug down to bring the level below the lawn.

Our play area is about 20sqm and we spent about £500 on the flooring.

We used these people. They were very helpful.

I should have said there is weed control fabric between the soil and car tyres.

Thank you. Garden is a mess and desperately trying to get it play ready by summer.
