Grass seeds... advice needed....

So, Ive raked and prepared the soil... sprinkled the seeds... trodden them down....

now: is it best to just leave them to the air now (and just get annoyed with the birds eating them and hope that some survive long enough to turn into grass)

or.... cover them with plastic ??

whats the best thing to do?

hang string threaded with milk bottle tops across your garden

don't cover it with plastic then?

Did think of bottle tops but Its only in a very small part of the garden and got 3 kids racing around... one of which is a toddler...... wasnt sure how to do the bottle top thing safely - can't have sticks sticking up to hold the string from in case one of the kids falls on them....

Any ideas?

can you tie them to a fence/bush/ tree> the other option would be to make a small scarecrow or put a couple f those seaside plastic windmill things in
