Slug/snail eggs in my seedlings?!

I have one of those little fabric 'greenhouse' in my tiny garden.
The children and I planted tons of seeds a week ago and put them all in there and DS3 (5) in particular has been down everyday to look at them, he had a 'GYO pizza herb garden kit' for Christmas which he's looking after.
Today there is white jelly looking eggs with black spots inside all over his little kit, I don't know if it's where it's covered and the others aren't, I think they're slugs because the garden is full of them.
Can I remove the eggs and keep the seeds in the soil or do I have to get rid of the lot?
Apologies if it's a stupid question, we have a go at growing something each year but aren't really very successful, we're certainly amateurs.

I'm happy to be corrected but I thought slugs laid their eggs underground? Not good for the squeamish, but squash the eggs if possible.

The slug/snail eggs I've found have been clear and squishy. You can easily pop them between your nails.

Not sure about white with black spots. Can you post a photo?

Well this is embarrassing, my neighbour (who I've discovered is a life long gardener) has told me they're normal hydrated sweet basil seeds! Blush
