I keep seeing this in people's front gardens and it looks great... But no idea what it is. There are different colours. Thanks

Can't see it terribly well. Is it rosemary?

TwitterQueen1 · 04/04/2018 13:28

Actually it wouldn't be rosemary if it's in different colours -- a heather?

Looks like heather, comes in purple, white and pink. Grows in acid soil, so ericaceous compost if you are not in an acidic area.

It’s heather. To keep it flowering and in good condition it needs to be severely trimmed back after flowering. In the wild the sheep graze on it.

There are lots of different kinds of heather flowering at different times. They like acid soil (I think!) .

Or a low growing hebe?

Thanks... It's definitely not rosemary but think it is heather
