Help needed from veg growers - plan my plot!

I am about to move to a new house which has a fairly large garden including a veg plot. I currently have a postage stamp sized garden and have done any real gardening before but am very keen to grow some veg. It will be end of June/early July by the time we move in and Dc2 due on 24th July so may be later in summer before we ger ghoing on it! So what I need to know is:

  • What should I plant in what moth?
  • What is easy to grow/ is going to give me results this year

Any tips hugely appreciated!

Thanks

I've got the Carol Klein 'Grow your own veg' book. (Accompanied the BBC series of the same name). It's a real idiots guide of how to grow anything - even includes plot layouts etc. It's in association with the RHS. If you're going to give it a go, I recommend a little divert to Amazon to get yourself a copy. (Retails at £16.99 but I bet you can get it cheaper).

Just had a copy of a magazine 'grow your own or similar and it had loads of veg tips (its the one with loads of free seeds/wallchart etc) could be just what you need.

In the meantime, get some plants/seedlings from the garden centre market or possibly free cycle and get started for this year like that.

I am very of your garden btw!
