I saw cheap Cistus x pupureus at Aldi today (9cm, £1.79). I think I'll get some as I had Cistus x pulverulentus 'Sunset' in my last garden and really liked it. I know you're supposed to plant things in groups of threes and fives etc but am I right in thinking that 'rule' is intended more for smaller plants?

Cistus x pupureus is supposed to reach a spread of up to 1m (compared with 45cm for Cistus Sunset). Does that mean a single Cistus x pupureus will look OK on its own (with other plants on either side)?
