Fabric gazebo over pergola

Is it possible to either temporarily or permanently set up a normal fabric gazebo over a wooden pergola?

The pergola is on a corner of decking in the garden but we never eat outside as DH has a small wasp phobia. If we could somehow enclosed the pergola area in mesh or some other fabric he may come around to the idea of eating 'outside'. We have tried various wasp deterrents and traps but they are ineffective, the meals are not enjoyable as DH is always on wasp patrol and shoots back into the house at lightning speed if one is spotted (although admittedly I'm not that far behind him).

Is a normal gazebo easy to set up around/over the pergola structure or are we looking at having to get something made for it?

I'm not sure if it'll do the trick to deter the wasps and flies...but we love it!

Something like that might work if we could add a zip or maybe poppers along the side to drape mesh down so DH feels safer. He's never even been stung so I'm not sure why he's so freaked out by them.

If you could attach rings to the underside of your pergola and then buy an approximately similar sized gazebo with mesh sides, you could then tie the gazebo to the rings to hang under the pergola. Rather like a pod within a tent outer layer. It’s would not look perfect or be taunt but I think the only way to achieve that is a custom made cover.
