NDN grass coming under fence

Our front garden has a wooden panel fence between us and next door. Their front garden is laid to lawn, which is unkempt and not mowed.

Ours is a flowerbed (was “builders lawn” when we moved in). The problem is that runners of grass keep coming under the fence and over running my bed. I couldn’t afford lots of big plants, so have small ones and mulched with bark.

Is there anything I can do to stop the grass coming under the fence?

See if you can get hold of some old roofing tiles and shove them down right by the fence. Get them in as close as possible and at least 6 inches down.

Was just going to say roofing tiles. That's it, nothing else to add! Smile

Thanks Ajax’s and State. Are roofing tiles quite pointy then? I never knew that!

Good to know that 6” would be deep enough to stop it.

Not pointy but thinish and sharp enough...you might have to use a trowel to sort of start them off.
