Dog poo bags in hedgerow

Somebody is using our hedgerow as a place to hang their dog poo bags. They also throw them under the hedgerow. It's disgusting. Today one was just dropped at the base of our gate. It's not everyday. If I did a stake out it would probably be unproductive and they would see me watching. What can I do to catch them?

That’s really horrid. I have no idea what you could do though. It’s really annoying. Possibly put up a laminated sign pointing out that this is private property with small children and kindly request no fly tipping/ dog poo tipping.
The fact that the people put the poo in bags, rather than letting their dog poo and pretending not to have noticed, may mean that they have some consideration in them and just didn’t know it was private property? (A girl can hope)

Report it to the dog warden at your local council.

This is a horrible habit, I would go mad if I saw someone doing it. In our rural village we have several dog poo bins, perhaps you could ask for some to be installed near you?

I'm dog owner but it drives me nuts when poo bags are left behind. And in your hedge that's revolting. On the same bit of pavement near my house almost every day someone is letting their dog poo, same colour and amount in roughly the same spot. So obviously the same person allowing this.I'm seriously considering a laminated notice on the lamp post to ask them to pick up and take the bag to a bin.Either that or staking out the area to try and catch them as I think it's early morning it happens. But as you say they probably would spot me.It's infuriating isn't it ?

I mean infuriating!

Whoever it is definitely will know it's a garden hedge. It runs along the front of our property.
Sometimes they hang them at waist height and others they throw under the hedge or place them at base of our gate. It's revolting. Problem is that nobody can see them do it due to position of the hedge. I will try and find our local dog warden and will request a poo bin as there are none.

I'm concerned that a sign would make them do it more often because they must be a horrid person anyway to think it's acceptable. I would really love to catch them in the act.
