Despite all my watering it has dried out slightly in our hot spell and one of the flowers has dried to a brown crisp- what shoud I do with it to encourage more flowers.

I would take that flower out, right from the bottom of the stem. Can you mulch round it with compost or something, after you give it a really good soak?
