Berry bush without thorns?

Looking for some plant ideas. I'm hoping to find a shrub/bush that would hopefully have berries on in the winter for birds. First thought is Holly but I'd rather not have any thorns/prickles due to dc. Location is north west facing garden, against a wall which doenst get much sun in the winter but would get a fair bit of sun in the morning during the spring/summer months. Ground conditions probably moist but drains ok, occasionally boggy in the winter. We have kind of slightly clay type soil. Any suggestions?

If you got the space, how about a Rowan? they can be pruned to be kept reasonably small and the ones round here (kent) keep their berries well into the winter.
