Cutting back overgrown climbers

Got a fence that needs replacing covered in climbers. If I chop then back now will they die? It's a mix of honeysuckle and clematis. I don't know any more specifics than that

Honeysuckle is tough as old boots and will regrow. The clematis could be slightly more complicated, depending on what type it is, but several sorts don't mind in the slightest being cut down and will sprout from the base quite happily. You may lose flowers this year.

If the fence needs replacing, Id; say get on quickly and do it now!
