First post - Laying turf - (sorry)

Hi. Am just getting to grips with my garden (after 3 years ).

I want to lay some turf. Have heard that you should stay off it for 3 or 4 weeks, but have also heard that it should only take a couple of days to take root if kept watered ???

I don't need it to look amazing (the rest of the lawn looks terrible atm), but don't want it to die.

Any tips ?

Keep it watered but not waterlogged. we kept off of ours for 2 weeks and it took well.

Definitely need to stay off it, and give it plenty of water. We laid some turf int he drought last year, lots of watering cans full, wasn't enough. Looks dreadful!

We've just had some laid and the gardener said to wait a couple of weeks, but the in-laws (who used to run a nursery (plants, not babies)) were round at the weekend and said it was fine to go on, so who knows!!

we just laid some and I think the dcs went on it after a week. It has been fine. We watered it every evening too, but not excessively (and forgot sometimes )
