Lucky bamboo

Hello, I’m not an avid gardener but I do have quite a few house plants which I seem to be doing well at keeping aliveSmile

I got some lucky bamboo as a gift, it came in a small pot with just water but I was told to plant it in soil so I did. However it doesn’t seem to be growing very well, some of the leaves are yellow and some of it is dry and brown.

It doesn’t smell, which I’ve read can happen when the plant is dying so that’s a plus point!

After looking online, I can see it can be kept in either very moist soil or just plain water. I’ve kept the soil very damp for a couple of weeks but it hasn’t helped it so I’m wondering whether I can now just transfer into water alone?

Will this help restore the bamboo or is it too late and should I just chuck the ones that are dry?

Please don’t plant bamboo in the garden! It will take over the world and everyone will hate you....
