Can anyone identify what this is? it looks like a spore of some kind and is only on one branch. It’s pink/rusty brown in colour.
Is it good/bad, I have no idea?
Thanks for any suggestions Smile

Is it the dreaded coral spot?

Thanks for responding, have done a bit of googling and it does seem to be that. Any ideas on how to treat it? I could cut off the branch it’s on, but would need to wait till April as it’s still cold and wet weather. Thanks again, I didn’t even know what to google!

Apple trees are being pruned across the country right now so get out there and prune that right off. It is perfect time to prune:
Dead, diseased, damaged all off first. Get the branches put into a fire or taken off your garden in a garden waste bin.

Yes, prune away. It's a nasty thing so you want to be rid of it completely to give your tree the best chance.

I totally thought i’d do more damage pruning at this time of year. I’ll get the offending branch cut off tomorrow. Thanks a million we inherited the apple tree when we moved in and I really don’t want to kill it! Thanks again.
