Garden design; planting plans?

We have a new, north-facing border about 70ft long by about 6ft which is too daunting a task for me to plant up. I know this is a how-long-is-a-piece-of-string question, but does anyone know how much someone might charge for developing a planting plan? Thank you.

Hi. I run my own gardening business. [*Post edited by MNHQ to remove company name]. I do gardening plans for people. I’m not a trained designer, merely an experienced gardener. So. I charge £50 for a two hour consultation. £150 for a plan. And a further £50 for a planting plan. Hope that helps you !

Thanks!

We paid a bit more than that I think for a larger design of a very weird space.

You could find design online for typical Victorian long garden - is it really 6ft wide? Is there a path beside?

DH does this. £400 ish for initial consultation, sketched ideas, another consultation to decide what he's drawing up properly based on the preliminary sketches (to scale etc) and the actual drawings, with plant choices.

Thanks all. We were quoted £400ish which seemed very reasonable to me; I just wanted to check it was in the right ball park.
@buckeejit; it is a weird area we need planting up.
