raised beds... are link-a-bord good value?

or a bit of a gimmick (ie getting wood planks would be far cheaper and not v difficult, or would they?)

i like the conveneince factor tbh

We've just got linkabords this year. I expect it would be greener/cheaper to use wood but frankly I knew we wd never get around to building them. The linkabords take about 20mins to make (all you have to do is saw or clip the dowels and slot them together) and then you just need to fill them up - homebase have cheap organic compost and topsoil. Can't say yet whether things grow well in them as I only planted my seeds this weekend. But for convenience, they're certainly good.

I am looking for alternatives to our (now rotting) log roll raised borders- have you got a linkat-all? groan- sorry. Can't find what you are talking about!

here you go. actually ive never looked at the site direct before - only seen them in gardening catalogues. i think theyre cheaper direct too !
