we now have a light well at the front of our house. which means we have a downstairs room that, delightfully, looks out onto a wall. it's crying out for some plants. good things about it are - very very warm and bright - the wall of the house faces west and gets lots of summer sun, but the wall of the light well faces east but the area is generally very bright. it's also sheltered - very much doubt it would get frost. the light-well wall is painted white so I'm thinking colour would be nice. the limitations are - small space - and can't afford to have anything too bushy or with too dark leaves or too vigourous - as don;t want to block light coming into the room. this summer I might just put a few geraniums out (by which I mean pelorgoniums (sp?) other ideas v. welcome
