anyone tried copper tape to deter slugs?

is it worth the money?
I will need loads as have just planted some lettuce in troughs.

Tried it for hostas.
Worked a bit, but not brilliant. FWIW, I reckon just putting puts on sharp grit works just as well, and much cheaper!

Used it for a hosta in a pot and it worked (although maybe there just weren't many slugs around last year!).

look at the lidl thread. it has a slug trap on offer starting the 19th of april.

If you have any copper from old pipes or something, they work just as well.
They also change the colours of hydrangers, just in case you didnt know that

copper tape works great for me on pots of hostas - BIG WATCHOUT is that you don't accidentally trap a slug or snail IN the pot. Slugs can be living under the surface of the compost, or in the gaps at the bottom if you put crocks in the pot.

I find grit good, and also bought a big tub of crushed shells on offer somewhere which work a treat and can look nice too
