Phew! That was hard work

I always leave it so late before giving the grass its first haircut (and usually after not giving it a good tidy up last thing in the autumn too ). Do I learn? Nah! So just took an hour off work this afternoon to get home early and make the first attack with the lawnmower. As I said it was hard, but I feel very satidfied that the first cut is done. It'll need doing again in a couple of days, with the mower on a lower setting, as this was done on the highest, but it does look heaps better. Sorry - I know that's nothing that exciting but hubby's away and I wanted to share that with someone.

Well done! My dh only just cut ours on Monday and it was like a forest before. It is really satisfying isn't it, to look out on a lovely flat green lawn. I bet you were sweating, weren't you? It's been dead hot today. Go and treat yourself to a nice chilled drink.

Can't say mine is completely flat yetPesto, but it's a vast improvement. And yes I was sweating by the end - especially as am 6m pregnant so getting a bit less mobile now. But I know I've broken the back of it now, so should be straightforward to go over it again in a couple of days and do the bits where I can't get the mower close enough to the tree with the strimmer and then it'll look great. Hubby won't recognise his garden when he gets back!
