DCs and i planted some veg seeds...just a chuck em in see what happens experiment but the onions and peas are actually growing!

What do i need to do to a) stop beasties eating them (including the ruddy birds) and b) stop the cats digging at them? peas are in a big planter and onions in a window box with hioles drilled in the bottom. DS1 desperate to eat them when they are "done" so i really need to get it right!

Are they in garden or back yard or where?
The stuff I have in my yard hasn't been bothered with before but the allotment gets mobbed.

Peas grow up a net (or somthing!) you can tie old cds onto it which scares away the birds.

Don't think much will bother the onions if they are in a window box.

i have a small garden and they are in a pot that is on top of the soil (if that makes sense?)
As is the window box that i drilled holes in (i really need to explain things properly lol!)
