What can I plant in this?

I get all my pots at the local tip and this morning I brought this home. It astounds me what people chuck out - not a chip or crack to be seen!
Anyone got any ideas what I can plant in it? It's about 50cm deep and 20cm wide.
Would like something with seasonal interest that would suit that sort of tall thin pot...
thanks!

Twisted bamboo would look great in that.

My first thought was bamboo too.

That's lovely. I agree an interesting variety of bamboo would look lovely.
Your lucky our tip won't sell anything.

Fabulous pot! It looks very Japanese, and would be the ideal container for a cascading bonsai tree (known as Kengai) but that's probably not what you're after...

That's definitely a bonsai pot and worth quite a few quid.
