Where can I buy a mature Walnut Tree?

I know I need to spend some serious money but it is important

Any ideas??

This is so confusing £40 for a 3m tree & £850 for a 4m tree - that makes no sense at all

have you tried ringing your local nursery/garden place? they can usually source things like this and give you a good price

It all seems a bit much of a difference

Ah but that extra metre may have taken a few years to grow so will have needed a lot of water, care etc. I think the general view is that a smaller, cheaper tree will establish better anyway (unless of course you're building a Chelsea garden and need an instant impact)

I want to call my new (childrens) Nursery "Walnut Corner" so I wanted a fairly substantial one

It will be behind a ditch, a bank & a hedgerow...so it needs to be fairly tall

I can't get over £800 difference tho'

Pantiles nursery in Surrey specialises in mature trees. They have a catalogue online. Website is www.pantiles-nurseries.co.uk

Click Garden Centre, then Catalogue, to get a list of stock with prices. Walnuts are under "J" for JUGLANS (latin name). Prices between £30 and £700, depending on height and girth, but it looks like you could get quite a decent size one for £200-ish.
