Fence screen plants advice

Hi, I have a section of fence above my patio I want more privacy around but don't want to use climbers. Can anyone recommend a decent tree or plant in a pot which has a stem around 1.5 meters and then bushes out? Was thinking of something like a fuschia.

Any recommendations would be fab, thanks.

Second getting something evergreen, a standard cotoneaster might be worth looking at if the ligustrum doesn't appeal.

Photinia red robin. The 'lollipop' version has a stem and they are evergreen. You can also get a pleached version or a shrub that you grow up.
