Hello,

Could someone help with identifying this plant please? There's an overgrown wasteland next to our house and these keep growing through our fence. My DH has got himself worried about Japanese Knotweed 😬 thanks.

That's just bindweed.

Looks like bind weed to me, it's a pain to get rid of as roots ridiculously long but if you keep cutting it back it weakens it.

Definitely bindweed and nothing to worry about, the leaves are too small for knotweed and the stem is the wrong colour.

Get a carrier bag and some squirty Roundup. Bundle the bindweed into the bag (taking care not to break the stem) and squirt Roundup into the bag all over the leaves. Secure with a clothes peg and leave for a week or so, then snip the bag free and bin it, and observe the rest of the weed dying.

Job done.
