Grass turf question

Has anyone turfed their own garden?? How easy/hard is it to do?

We laid turf about 3 weeks ago and it looks great.

I prepped the ground and put down some soil conditioner in a light layer to a fine crumb then laid the turves like subway tiles on top. Make sure you butt the edges close together, then water it well and don't walk on it. When cutting it to the shape you want use a bread knife and use either a board or a hose to get your shape.
I was extending my existing lawn and it looks great (though here in Glasgow we have had rain pretty much daily so haven't been out with the hose)
I put off doing the job, as I thought it would be too difficult, but truly surprised as it was so much easier than I thought.

I am quite slap dash, and resist things that are too complex, but I found it easy. Do all the poster above suggested, and just make sure to do it when you are around to water for the suggested regime ( can't remember, but fit my info from RHS website).
