Tidying bamboo

We currently have bamboo growing round the edges of our garden. End house with our back garden on the side. It's now getting ready to be trimmed into shape but I need some telescopic loppers. Can anyone recommend any before I go to our really expensive garden centre?!

Did you know it's best to trim bamboo from the base? May save you some money on loppers.

I didn't know that, thank you. It's a lot easier to get to the bottom that's for sure!

Wait for Aldi/Lidl to have them in.

I'll be bamboo trimming this week. The buggers are two storeys high. :o Shock

Ours are about 8ft. We started with a cutting from the in-laws garden so we could get a bit of a screen. It's been a year and they've spread like wildfire, it's ready for a shape and trim!

We have BLACK bamboo which is much less invasive, and easier to control.

Well I cut down about 15 stems, cut them again to serviceable lengths. I'll dry them off in the grades, then put them at the gate as free stakes/plant supports.
