Any idea what these bulbs are?

DS planted them at an activity and then forgot what they are. He says the bulbs were small and whitish brown. The leaves remind me a bit of anemones I think, but not really sure. I need to plant them out soon, so would it be good to know. Thanks!

Oh that's a definite possibility thanks! The leaves do look a bit like that. I'll ask him tomorrow if that rings a bell, he's away tonight. Hope so as I like them!

Ps he was quite vague about the bulbs so that description might not be much use!
