We have bare patches and loads of moss on our lawn at the mo. We were going to play with it last weekend but thought we'd better not and there was nasty weather forecast. Any advice on how to mend it greatly appreciated!

I will ask DH if you like - he is a greenkeeper on a golf course.

bare patches in the lawn apparently could be due to chafer grubs and leather jackets, all that time i blamed my poor dog. Anyway, i found this out yesterday when i found the fat little feckers in my lawn and looked them up on the internet. We are re turfing our lawn next week, seed seems to take to long to grow to a point where you can use it properly.

Anu luck Schneebly?

give the patches a little raking over with a small hand held fork, bung some grass seed down and pray for rain. If not water it when the sun goes down and you will have lovely turf again.
