I got this from a plant sale and I'm not sure it's what I was told.

Any ideas?

I don't know, but I'm watching as MIL has loads in her garden and I'm wondering whether to take some!

Aaah! My dad's mate I bought it off reckoned it was comfrey. This is its first year flowering and was totally not what I expected. Although it is jolly nice. Can you divide clumps when it gets bigger?

It looks the same as the leaves on the comfrey in our garden but the flowers are white not purple. It's a major skin irritant for some so if it's comfrey and you are pulling it out then wear long sleeves. If it's comfrey it will take over if you let it.

And thanks, you've prompted me to go out and attack it again. Where did i put my long gloves?

Yes it's a strong grower, and easily divided once it's got to a decent size. Semi-evergreen (three quarters here in cornwall), and the flower spikes will stay looking good all winter
