Mystery plant

Anyone have any idea what this could be please?

Is it ancantus?

It has large glossy leaves and is about 2 ft tall. I have seen similar plants at the seaside

I've got one in my garden but I only planted it this year.

Acanthus can become invasive, and the roots can go down a metre or so, and can be difficult to dig out.

The flowers can look nice, if you have enough space for them, but be careful they don't 'take over'!
