Moving plants

I've a few plants that I'd like to move as I/they don't like where they are. Can I move them just now or do I need to wait till winter time? I know peonies go in the huff if they're moved but unsure of marigolds or some perennials for example.

Should be OK to move most things now, as long as they are watered in and kept watered if it goes sunny. Also big clumps of things can be divided if you want more, or they have got too large.

I just move plants where I want them and take the view that if they die then so be it!
