Porcelain patio

Anyone laid a porcelain tile patio as opposed to concrete slabs? Really like the modern look of them but not sure how they wear. Thanks

I'm not sure either but am also interested in this question. Have you decided if you'll go ahead with porcelain for your patio? My concern is how non-slip they really are.

I don't know about Porcelain, but I guess some tough tile materials could be used, but compact the ground underneath first. The old fashioned 'quarry' tiles (that used to be in farmhouse kitchens) might be suitable. But Porcelain seems to suggest shiny and therefore slippery.

(As child in the 1940s, I lived in Jackfield, now part of the Ironbridge Museum site. Two Victorian tile companies, Craven Dunnill, and Maw & Co had factories there, and I used to climb up huge piles of waste reject tiles, that had exotic colours and patterns on them, and they made a 'delicious' crunching kind of sound. A narrow footpath went underneath one of factories, and I remember being quite frightened of the hot iron roof beneath a kiln.)

I'm fancying porcelain as well, mainly because I want the same tiles inside & out.
I think they treat the surface of the outdoor ones to make them non-slip but I'd like to hear experiences of anyone who has actually got them.
