I have never had a decent garden in the UK until recently. I am amazed at what just grows here randomly - it's quite fun. So this was growing in a deserted pot which I have needed to remove. I have quickly placed it in a hole the local fox dug for me. So before it gets composted, can anyone recognise it? Would it be useful to anyone ?- I have Freecycled trees before.

Ash? They grow like weeds and self seed.

I have a massive weeping ash, and it looks like this. I also have saplings everywhere.

Definitely ash

So I have been reading that the saplings are mostly a PITA to gardeners. So should I just put in the garden collection rather than freecycle then?.

That would be garden Waste collection..

Ash. I've just found a sapling growing in a huge patch of brambles I'm clearing. I'm going to leave it but keep it pruned hard so it's a hedge plant.
