It looks a bit like a rose of Sharon.

ExplodedCloud · 21/05/2017 14:31

The petals don't quite look big enough and the middle isn't hairy enough from online comparison but it might not have come out enough.
Thank you for your reply :)

Do you have any leaves or pics of it growing? It's quite hard to ID just from a flower, sometimes.
It looks a bit like a celandine.

ExplodedCloud · 21/05/2017 14:42

No! She's found the only one and she can't work out which plant it was from. It was a long stalk with no leaves according to her. I shall look at celandine.
It may of course be some random weed!

Looks like this

Lesser Celandine (Harbinger-of-Spring)

MarklahMarklah · 21/05/2017 15:55

Long stem would suggest Wood Avens. It's in the geum family.

ExplodedCloud · 21/05/2017 16:22

Kermit thanks but that looks like 7 petals?
Marklah wood avens could well be it! Dd has accepted that as a good enough match Grin
Thanks all! Flowers

Looks like yellow weed in my garden which after a bit of searching appears to be greater celandine.

very very orange sap if it is.

Looks like greater celandine to me too. It's now in flower in my area. A weed in my garden, it's very pretty but spreads everywhere and harbours whitefly.
