What is this gorgeous flowering shrubby thing??

It's in a relatives' garden but they don't know what it is...just that it is evergreen! I thought it was an azalea at first but the flowers are much bigger than on the one I have...

Yes it's an Azalea, the are many different forms and sizes.

Isn't an azalea that's evergreen a rhododendron?

Anyway, whichever it is, it's that.

Ah, didn't realise they were part of the Rhodendron family. My garden is quite heavily clay based which explains why my azalea isn't looking great in comparison, after a quick google about what they like. My uncle obviously has better soil!

I grow mine in pots with ericaceous compost to get good results.
