Trying to redo our garden, moved in 3 years ago and just getting round to it. Its very green, hardly any plants that flower. I have dug lots up.
I have these two can anyone tell me what they are please?

The first one looks to me like anemone (but I always get confused by them and something else)

The second is definitely a peony.

The first may be a Japanese anemone - late summer/early autumn flowering, probably. The second is a peony, probably red. Both lovely plants!

They might not be flowering if they're in the wrong place? The anemone can cope with light shade, but the peony prefers sun (not too dry).

Thanks thats great ☺
Both of these do flower (about the only ones). Just wanted to check what they were.

The peony may need supports to keep it from lying down in the rain.
