Slugs in plant pots

I only have a patio garden so lots of plant pots. I've tried nemotodes and it didn't work so I've reluctantly decided I need to go the slug bait route.

Can you assure me it won't do any harm to other wildlife if I just chuck some in plants pots?

What kind should I get. Thank you very much

I'm glad you asked this ...at the moment I'm considering these 2

I like the sound of the latter . Would love to hear any experience or advice .

Would Vaseline round the pots help ????

You can get self adhesive copper tape, the slugs and snails can't cross it, it really works.

I use Sluggo if they get out of control. I have hedgehogs, frogs and birds in the garden and it is safe for them, but only if dosed correctly. It's so easy to overdo it, especially in pots, so really worth measuring the amounts. You really don't need much.

I've been using crushed egg shell.

coffe grounds also work

I've tried copper tape, egg shells and coffee grounds. Going for the pellets this year :(

oh thank you. Some good ideas here. I didn't want to use pellets but looks like they are ok and with everything being in a pot then it (hopefully) makes it even safer.
