I don't have a name but mum had smaller ones in the garden, I got rid as they were weeds.
They made no attempt to eat me and although they were smaller, there were quite a few so they could have ganged up on me Grin
My mum still shudders when she hears the word "triffid" and I think she saw 70s version, I saw a relatively recent one.

On second thoughts, the flowers on your triffid are much prettier than the things I pulled up.

It's Honesty - Lunaria annua, which will develop silvery "pennies" when it goes to seed.

Honestly? I love honesty. Used to rub it between my fingers to get the seeds out for my grandma.
The compost will have to wait. I think I must have put some seeds in my pocket from someone else's garden.

Yes, it is definitely honesty, no question. Lovely stuff.

Can I transplant it? If so , when? Or do I just wait till the grandchildren can peel the silver pennies for me?
