So, basically DH is too tight to pay for someone to lay us a patio so we have decided to build our own.
The area was covered in stones which when we've moved them away the base is scruffy, but solid, concrete.
Does it sound like a plan if we:
- Clear the whole area of the stones
- put on about 3cm sand - flatten down as much as possible
- lay paving stones on top
- put stones in the gaps
We would like the kind of patio where there are irregular slate pieces with about a 5cm gap between filled with stones.
