Griselinia hedging and cows

Hi,
Does anyone know if cows eat griselinia hedging? We're looking to plant it along our garden boundary but there are cattle the other side of the garden and would be able to reach it. I know it's not dangerous for them but I don't want to plant it if they're just going to eat it!!

Yes, they will. Would the farmer consider putting up a wire ( as opposed to a full fence) on the field side to keep the cattle back a few feet in order for your hedge to establish?

Oh balls. Do you know of any hedging they don't eat? We've got a 10m boundary and just wanted it to grow up a meter or so just to hide the trampled mud/poo general cow mess from our garden view! But the cows can definitely lean over the fence....

They are absolute hedge chewing brats, cows. If you consider the length of their necks then add a couple more feet for when they lean and stretch to get to the plant of their choice.... Even mature trees in fields have a very manicured look...
The only thing which would work would be a tennis court height of fence then you could plant the griselina hedge and it would grow unchewed.

Gorse, it seems to thrive in fields full of cows.
