Pond oxygenating plants

I'm in the process of rejuvenating a couple of barrel ponds. They needed some fresh oxygenating plants; my local nursery has stopped doing water plants and the big garden centre only had the bunches tied with lead strip. I bought a couple of these, but not sure whether to:
A) chuck in as they are
B) try to plant in a submerged basket - but I'm not sure they have roots
C) retie with twine and tie the bunch to a stone
D) undo and let them float

Thanks!

All of the above are good options so whatever aestheticallyappeals I'd say
