Plant ID help?

Hello all,

Just moved in to a house with a garden for the first time and hoping to be a keen gardener. Right now I have no idea! I would be very grateful for some plant ID help.

The first is creeping its way around the bottom of a clematis. Weed or no weed?

The second I think is a bindwind but I'm not 100% sure.

First looks like ground elder, a dreadful creeping weed! The second does look like bindweed. Dig out and apply weedkiller to any remains leaves.

I agree, it's ground elder and bindweed; neither are easily eliminated I'm afraid.

I have both of those and they're a nightmare! Go in now and go hard, that's my advice!!
