Killing weeds around slabs

We have large paving slabs outside with loads of weeds growing between them.

What's the best way to remove them?

(as gardening-jargon free as possible, please, total novice here).

Easiest way would be to use a chemical weed killer. Best solution for long term control (but more work) would be to dig them out and then re-grout between the tiles.

not weedkiller. it's poison.
you cab use a flame thrower thingy

or vinegar

^^ I know weedkiller is evil, I just suggested it was the easiest option.

Personally I've tried using the flamethrower on my patio (albeit it's a small culinary blowtorch, not one of those sold especially for gardening) and found it took a long time. Possibly longer than just pulling out the weeds by hand.

So either weedkiller, not weedkiller, vinegar, a blowtorch, or a flame thrower, then?!
