Tarting up old plastic planters

Anyone done this? I have a load of scuzzy looking planters I have acquired over the years, is there a paint or spray that would brighten them up?

I did this with bronze spray paint, big can cheap at homebase.

I have used old grey/green match pots. The paint does rub off a bit, but they then look weathered.

Blackboard paint is cheap and easy to apply
