My 2 new Acers arrived today, ready for my garden make-over in November. Acer Griseum and Acer Sangukaku, joining my others and currently introducing themselves and making friends.

Acers are so elegant ,I'm very jealous . I'd grow more but they struggle in my windy garden. Looks like you have some shelter with the fence ?

Aww. We had three red acers by our drive but I kept catching them with the car. Asked a gardener friend to see if he could move them. He couldn't, so he cut them up instead. Was gutted.

Sounds more like a butcher than a gardener . Yes they can be moved, although it's a lot of work if they are big. And yes they can be pruned

Sangukaku is one of my absolute favourites. The leaf and bark colour are fabulous.

Those trees are both fantastic. We have a paper bark maple, pride of place in the forest garden. Love it.

My red acer is just starting to turn greenish - I love how the colour leeching out leaves the underlying one showing through.
How is the thinning going Sosidges?

I am slowly getting over the sadness of having to get rid of so much. I bought the two,Acers to cheer me up.

I bought some polypots, so I have been digging up things and putting them in there, just in case the is room for them in the new garden. They are lined up against the wall. Did not help that my OH described it as death row.

I have also come up with a design that I am happy with so excitement on that scale. Is mounting.
